Sainte-Mere-Eglise
Listed as a historical monument, you will explore this Church’s bell tower which is known to be the one to which John Steele’s parachute hung during Operation Albany at the beginning of the Battle of Normandy. His story became famous in 1962 following the release of the film “The Longest Day”.
1 hour 30 minutesPointe du Hoc
Located between Omaha Beach and Utah Beach, you will then visit the Pointe du Hoc, one of the must-see spots on the Normandy landing beaches. Composed of a cliff of 25 to 30 meters high, la Pointe du Hoc, was one of the most difficult battles of the D-Day. Of the 225 Rangers, only 90 were still able to pursue liberation.

Then, we will drive to Omaha Beach, the most prominent of the five landing beaches of D-Day. This is where the Allies lost the most troops (almost 4 700 men), which earned it the nickname «Bloody Omaha».

Leaving Omaha Beach behind, “The Normandy American Cemetery” unites graves of 9,387 fallen soldiers, the chapel, the memorial and the garden of the disappeared. This cemetery honors American soldiers who died during the Battle of Normandy during the Second World War and is one of the 25 permanent US burial sites on foreign soil.
