Meet your guide in front of South Bank Centre. Follow in the footsteps of the great French Impressionists like Claude Monet and Romantics like J. M. W. Turner. Explore places that inspired their work and learn about their lives and art with a professional guide.
15 minutesWestminster Bridge
You will then be escorted to the place where you can view the location where he painted one of his most important works. Retrace your steps along the Thames Path towards St Thomas Hospital viewpoint for many of Monet’s paintings. Hear the story of JWM Turner’s paintings of the fire which destroyed the Houses of Parliament and the mystery which has only recently been solved.

Hear interesting facts and anecdotes about the painters' lives in London including why the French Impressionists left Paris and sought refuge during the Franco-Prussian War and the story of Monet's stay at the Savoy Hotel.

You will hear the story regarding Monet’s stay in the Savoy Hotel and whether he did reside in ‘the Monet Suite’.
