This fantastic trip will take you to the historic site of the Great Mongol Empire (13th–15th century AD) and teach you about its history and cultural significance. You will visit the first center of Tibetan Buddhism in Mongolia, the legendary Erdene Zuu monastery, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Orkhon River Valley.No trip to Mongolia is complete without a visit to the desert, so your next stop will be at the Bayangobi Sand Dunes. Here, you will be a guest of a real nomadic family and witness firsthand Mongolian nomadic culture and learn to make dairy products the Mongolian way.On the way back, we will stop at the beautiful Hustai National Park to see the only remaining wild horse species in the world—the Takhi, aka Przewalski horse.

Elsen Tasarkhai
In the early morning, we will depart from UB and drive to Elsen Tasarkhai (aka Bayangobi) and Khugnu Khan nature reserve where the gorgeous rocky mountain and mini version of sand dunes are. Upon arrival, we will visit to a camel breeder family which is a great way to learn more about nomadic lifestyle and people of Mongolia. In the afternoon, we visit the Erdene Khamba Khiid Buddhist surviving temple from the Great Repression in the 1930s in Hogno Khaan Nature Reserve Park –a good place for trekking/hiking and gives you a great view of surroundings.

Day 2: Ancient capital Karakorum

Breakfast and we drive to ancient capital the Karakorum. We visit legendary monastery Erdene Zuu, the first Buddhist monastery in Central Mongolia founded in 1586, and its surroundings.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Museum of Karakorum which gives a good introduction to Central Mongolia, its’ history and the UNESCO world heritage site Orkhon river valley.

We will visit the newly established calligraphy center, Erdenesiin Khuree. If you want to take part in the workshop and learn how to write your name is calligraphy, you can pay on spot for the fee.

Day 3: Hustai National Park

After breakfast, we will drive to Hustai National park- where the Takhi wild horses graze peacefully with other wild animals. Arrive there by before afternoon. We will watch a short documentary about the national park, and then we head into the national park to spot the wild horse known as Takhi, birds and other wildlife. Overnight at the ger camp.
