Lisbon Cathedral
Lisbon Cathedral is one of the ex-libris of the city and one of the most significant monuments of the country, for its historical, religious and artistic value.
10 minutesMiradouro da Senhora do Monte
Lisbon is known as the city of seven hills, and because of this arrangement, is full of belvederes with fantastic views. The Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, located in the Graça district, offers a unique panoramic view, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful views of Lisbon, especially since it is one of the highest points of the city.
15 minutesPanteao Nacional Campo de Santa Clara
The Panteão Nacional is located in the parish of São Vicente de Fora, at Santa Engrácia Church. The present building is in the place where a church had already been erected in 1568, by order of the Infanta D. Maria, daughter of D. Manuel I, on the occasion of the creation of the old parish of Santa Engrácia. Among the illustrious personages buried there, we find Amália Rodrigues, Marechal Humberto Delgado, the remains of writers Aquilino Ribeiro, João de Deus, Almeida Garrett, Guerra Junqueiro and the Presidents of the Portuguese Republic Manuel de Arriaga, Teófilo Braga, Sidónio Pais and Óscar Carmona are also buried there. The personalities of Luís de Camões, Pedro Álvares Cabral, Afonso de Albuquerque, Nuno Álvares Pereira, Vasco da Gama and Infante D. Henrique are also mentioned in the National Pantheon through cenotaphs, even though their bodies are not present there.
10 minutesAlfama
Alfama is one of the oldest districts of Lisbon and was founded by the Arabs who gave it the name "Al-hama", which means "source of warm waters, good waters". One does not live a genuine experience in Lisbon without getting lost among the alleys and charms of the neighborhood that is considered the heart of the city. As you walk along the narrow, narrow streets of Alfama, you will feel in a small village and witness conversations between neighbors, listen to the fado that echoes down the stairs and still see the Tagus in another dimension.
Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara
The viewpoint of São Pedro de Alcântara is not only pleasant to rest under the trees that compose it, sitting in one of the many comfortable benches. It is also one of the most common places for evening gatherings, especially before heading to the famous nightlife of the Alto district.
15 minutesMiradouro das Portas do Sol
Visiting the belvedere is also an excuse to appreciate the genuine features of Lisbon in a fantastic view to the eastern front of the Alfama district and the Tagus River, which stretches to the edge of the river in a singular labyrinth of streets, stairways and sleepers. From the top of the viewpoint you can also admire the different domes and different architectures of the churches of Santo Estêvão, São Miguel and São Vicente de Fora.
