Day 1: Transfer from the hotel to MARANGU GATE (1860m) - MANDARA HUT (2700m) - ( 5 Days Marangu Route - Kilimanjaro Hiking)

Stop At: Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro Region
We depart Moshi for Marangu Gate for the necessary formalities before beginning our trek. The hiking trail begins by ascending a beautiful, tropical rain forest. At the upper edge of the forest line, we have the opportunity to see blue monkeys. The trail then widens to expose beautiful hillsides until we reach Mandara Hut.

Day 2: Kilimanjaro Hiking from MANDARA HUT (2700m) - HOROMBO HUT (3700m) - ( 5 Days Marangu Route - Kilimanjaro Hiking tour )

Stop At: Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro Region
The day begins with an early breakfast. Shortly after you have left Mandara Hut, you will reach the timberline and then enter the heath and moor zone. After a 5-6 hour hike, you will reach the Horombo Hut, which is located at 3700 meters. From the hut, you will have fantastic views overlooking Mawenzi, Kibo and the wide plain of the Maasai steppe.

Day 3: Kilimanjaro Hiking from HOROMBO HUT (3700m) - KIBO HUT (4700m) - ( 5 Days Marangu Route - Kilimanjaro Hiking Trip )

Stop At: Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro Region
Ascending, we now pass the last watering point, walking onto the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Vegetation begins with upper heathland but then disappears into “moonscape”. Dinner, rest and prepare for the summit climb.

Day 4: Kilimanjaro Hiking from KIBO HUT (4700m) - UHURU PEAK (5895m) - HOROMBO HUT (3700m) - ( Mount Kilimanjaro Hiking Tour )

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak

Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Elevation (ft): 19,341 ft to 12,250 ft
Distance: 16 km/10 miles
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Heath
Today is the great day - Summit day! This begins at night because the lava ash is still frozen and so the ascent is easier. Your guide wakes you around 11pm, and an hour later the long and strenuous way to the summit begins. Passing the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m, the climb slowly but surely ascends. At sunrise, you will reach Gillman’s Point (5681m) – the crater rim of Kilimanjaro – where the sun will slowly start to warm up the land. You quickly forget the coldness of the night and will reach the Uhuru Peak at 5895 meters after another 1-2 hours. Congratulations! You‘ve made it to the "Roof of Africa". Enjoy this moment... The route back down follows the same path; the lava ash will now have thawed, which allows for a fast descent. On your return to Kibo Hut, a warm meal awaits you and you can regain your strength. After a 1-2 hour rest, you will continue to Horombo Hut (3700m) where you will arrive in the afternoon. After an evening meal, most mountain conquerors understandably retire early to bed!

Day 5: Kilimanjaro Hiking from HOROMBO HUT (3700m) - MARANGU GATE (1860m) – Moshi/Arusha - ( 5 Days Kilimanjaro Hiking Tour )

Stop At: Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro Region
Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Marangu Waterfall
Elevation (ft): 12,205 ft to 6,046 ft
Distance: 20 km/12 miles
Hiking Time: 5-9 hours
Habitat: RainForest

On our last day, we have a long trek mostly downhill through the tropical rainforest. Once at the park headquarters at Marangu gate, we collect our summit certificates. Thereafter the vehicle will meet you and will get transferred to Marangu Waterfall for the Short Tour, having lunch there and enjoying a day.

Then after a half-day tour, you will get back to the hotel in Moshi overnight.
