Poienari Castle
Poenari Castle is a ruined castle in Romania which was a home of Vlad the Impaler. The citadel is situated high atop a mountain and accessed by climbing 1,480 concrete stairs.

Vidraru Dam it was completed in 1966 on the Argeș River and creates Lake Vidraru. The arch dam was built with the primary purpose to produce hydroelectricity. The dam's height is 166 metres, the arch length 305 meters and it can store 465 million cubic metres of water. The reservoir has a total shoreline (perimeter) length of 28 km.

The road climbs to an altitude of 2,042 metres (6,699 ft). It is a winding road, dotted with steep hairpin turns, long S-curves, and sharp descents. It is both an attraction and a challenge for hikers, cyclists, drivers and motorcycle enthusiasts. Due to the topography, the average speed is around 40 km/h (25 mph). The road also provides access to Bâlea Lake and Bâlea Waterfall.

spectacular waterfall, located on the Transfăgărășan trail, is Capra waterfall. It is located in the southern part of Făgăraș mountain, coming from Argeș county, at an altitude of 1690 meters and a water fall of over 40 meters. Because of the high flow rate of the water, this waterfall almost never freezes.

Bâlea Lake is a glacier lake situated at 2,034 m of altitude in the Făgăraș Mountains, in central Romania, in Sibiu County. There are two chalets opened all the year round, a meteorological station and a mountain rescue (Salvamont) station. It is accessible by car on the Transfăgărășan road during the summer, and the rest of the year by a cable car from the Bâlea.
