The Trevi Fountain is the most famous of all the fountains in Rome attracting most first-time visitors as a 'must see'. It is tradition to throw a coin into the fountain to ensure your return to Rome.

It was built in order to link the the Trinità dei Monti church that was under the patronage of the king of France, with the Spanish square below. The long, triangular Spanish square is named after the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See.

This massive piazza was laid out in 1538 to provide a grandiose entrance to what was then Rome's main northern gateway. It has since been remodelled several times, most recently by Giuseppe Valadier in 1823. In the centre, the 36m-high obelisk was brought by Augustus from ancient Egypt; it originally stood in the Circo Massimo.

The Pantheon is the best preserved ancient building in Rome and another must-see touristic attraction to add to your list! Originally dedicated to all mythology divinities, it became a Christian church in the 7th century. Inside, admire the immense dome and the oculus (the opening in the dome), giving the place a unique lighting. In the Pantheon, you can also see the tombs of Raphael (the famous artist) and Victor Emmanuel II (1st king of Italy).

The Piazza Navona is located in the heart of the historic center, not far from the Pantheon. it’s one of the most beautiful and famous square of Rome! There, you can admire the the Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers.
