Built by emperor Shah Jahan, it is the largest and the most splendid mosque in India. Visitors must wear traditional clothes and remove their shoes before entering the mosque.

Chandni Chowk, Shahjahanabad’s (old Delhi) main drag, this ancient bazaar is sure to knock you sideways with its mind-boggling array of eating places and shops selling clothes, shawls, footwear, jewellery, handicrafts, electronics, and whatnot. This bazaar dating back to the Mughal era is ideal for a hasty souvenir binge before you head home.

Dive into the riot of colours at Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market in old Delhi. This market as old as the 17th century encompasses hundreds of shops selling local and exotic spices from around the country. Witness huge sacks filled with black salt, tamarind, turmeric, red chilies, and nutmeg lined across the narrow streets.

Agrasen ki Baoli
Agrasen ki Baoli, designated a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958, is a 60-meter long and 15-meter wide historical step well.

Spot the onion-shaped domes shining in the sun of this marvellous Sikh shrine (gurdwara) made out of glistening white marble. Carrying immense religious significance this spot is swarmed by countless devotees around the year. It is said that the water of the large water tank set in its premises possesses healing powers.

This 42m high imposing stone memorial in the shape of a massive arch was designed by Lutyens back in 1921. Built-in the memory of around 90,000 Indian Army soldiers, this monument pays tribute to the Bravehearts who lost their lives during World War I, Northwest Frontier operations, and the 1919 Anglo-Afghan War.

One of the most captivating landmarks in the capital city of India, Parliament House, also known as the Sansad Bhavan is an epic spot to witness. In the year 1947, this building was the place where Britain handed over the powers to the newly independent India. Visitors are not allowed inside.
Rashtrapati Bhavan
Also known as the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President’s House is a plush building encompassing 2.5km of corridors, 340 rooms, a dome shape Durbar Hall, an intriguing presidential library, and a captivating Ashoka Hall. There are several other lavish areas surrounding the President's House that are worth witnessing.
Qutub Minar
This towering Afghan-style victory minaret is unmissable. Sultan Qutb-ud-din proclaimed his supremacy over the defeated rulers of Qila Rai Pithora by erecting this 73m high structure. The tower has five storeys and projecting balconies. The intricate bands made of sandstone encircling the tower bear verses from the holy book of Quran.

popular as Bahai House of Worship, this tranquil place of worship is constructed in the form of a lotus flower. Aimed to bring various faiths together, this masterpiece was designed in the year 1986 by Fariborz Sahba, an Iranian-Canadian architect. Visitors can enter the temple to offer prayers or can meditate silently.

Raj Ghat is a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation, Antyeshti (last rites) on 31 January 1948, a day after his assassination. It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns at one end.
