This beautiful hiking route leads us to a very scenic part in the east of the island of Ischia. The starting point is in Barano center. The east coast presents itself originally with traditional villages, a special pilgrimage church, orchards and vineyards and rugged rocks.
Magnificent panoramic views of Vesuvius, the sea and Capri will accompany us. On the way we partially circle a 2,000 year old volcano. A shallow depth in the sea near the cliffs tells us the position of another volcano that is below sea level.

There we visit the volcano crater of Vatoliere. An old volcanic crater, now green.

We visit the San Pancrazio peninsula. A beautiful vantage point, uninhabited, olive groves, overlooking the Gulf of Naples with Capri, Vesuvius and Procida.

Romantic lookout point. This hike takes you there and you will experience a really beautiful piece of the original Ischia with its wild and romantic nature and with many insights into the rural, tranquil life. The rich nature can be fully enjoyed here in peace.

There we visit the church of Santa Maria di Montevergine. A white pilgrimage church, visible from afar, Virgin Mary.

Vineyards and orchards, wine terraces. After a look at the turquoise sea deep below us, we climb the bizarre hollow path to a high plateau, where we find well-kept vineyards and small vegetable gardens.

We also visit the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata in Campagnano. This is a village church with old ceramic tiles as a facade.
