The Ultimate Prague History Tour
The Ultimate Prague History Tour
Seven hours may seem a long time - but of course we will have breaks at cafés, food stalls or in a park, when it comes to more detailed explanations. We also stop whenever you'd like to take a photo. You will get a very profound insight on 1000 years of history - from the very inception of this city till today. This city and this country have left their heavy imprint on Europe's history.I don't do groups - just you and me, max.
6 people in case of a family or friends travelling together. I'd like to have a permanent dialogue with you. You can change the itinerary any time - there's so much to see here.

Novy Svet
To get to Prague Castle, we get off the tram at a stop past the Castle to avoid crowds and have a walk through the co called New World quarter which is incerdibly picturesque and basically empty.
30 minutesLoreta Praha
This is one of the most attractive sanctuaries for St. Mary in a monastery-like setting, with a breathtaking church and a treasury. Recent research has found out, that large parts of its mystic legend turned out to be true.
1 hourPrague Castle
This is Prague's attraction no. 1, thus often crowded. We will decide on the spot if we want to walk through. It's most interesting object is the cathedral, the unusual location of which has both religious as well as political reasons. In this context I'll give you a detailed idea of the amazing genesis of the Gothic style - an insight which you will hardly get in any other tour. It's one of my favourite subjects.
1 hour 30 minutesNerudova Street
This is a very pretty, but also very touristic street. We soon turn right to St. John's Hill, a quiet neighbourhood that once housed many Italian artists. Why and when I'll tell you in detail - it's another story closely linking art, religion and politics.
1 hourMalostranske namesti
The beautiful central square of the so called Lesser Town, full of architecture, history, tales of religious upheaval, baroque splendour and espionage stories from WWI.
30 minutesMaltezske namEsti
We're approaching Vltava river, arrive at a very pretty little square and the church as well as the embassy (!) of the Maltese knights, further to the palace of the French embassy which we might be able to visit upon prior request, to the Lennon Wall which is, alas, only a sad remnant of what it once was, and to Kampa island, a beautiful green oasis with a few very interesting attractions.
30 minutesMuseum Kampa
A wonderful little contemporary art museum in a former mill and the largest collection of František Kupka, one of the pioneers of Abstract Painting. One of my favourite museums, initiated by one of the most interesting women of Prague's recent history. We have her biography in our library, and I'll tell you the amazing story of her career.
30 minutesMost Legii
If Charles Bridge is too busy we cross the river on the Legions' Bridge which leads us to Old Town and to the National Theatre. It played an important role in the country's fight for independence in the 19th century. I have to give you a detailed introduction to that.
30 minutesStare Mesto (Old Town)
We will walk criss cross around Old Town - according to what you've seen already. I'd rather show you the less known attractions and would like to give you an idea on how Medieval villages became cities and how much of this is still to see in Prague with its 1000 years of history.
30 minutesObecni Dum
If we still have enough time I'd like to finish the tour over a cup of coffee at Prague's Municipal House - the city's most beautiful Art Nouveau building with a concert hall, an exhibition space, two restaurants and a gorgeous café. This will give me the opportunity to tell you the genesis of Art Nouveau.
