Your Itinerary
A curated journey through the experience
Ferhadija Pedestrian Street
You will meet your guide at the Cathedral, right in downtown Sarajevo. There you can already tell the first exciting facts about this city - the "Jerusalem of the Balkans". After all, you are here in the middle of the Austro-Hungarian part of the city. But that picture will soon change as you venture into the Mahalas. These old, Ottoman districts - at that time the smallest possible administrative unit - still shape the cityscape of Sarajevo today and have exciting stories to tell!
10 minutesMejtaš
Here in Mejtaš, too, not only Jewish but also Ottoman influences are visible.
10 minutesVrbanjuša
Many remnants of Ottoman culture and history are still hidden in the mahalas, such as this ancient dervish monastery. Your guide will tell you even more exciting stories about multiculturalism, diversity and cohesion in this city where different religions and ethnic groups have always lived together!
10 minutesCaffe 105
On the way to Caffe 105 it becomes more rural, people plant their herbs and vegetables in their own vegetable gardens in illegal settlements. You'll also get to know this part of the city before stopping for a breather at Caffe 105 - the place where the 105 Motor Brigade used to heroically defend Sarajevo. In addition to a café, there is a museum here that your guide will take you through and where you can learn about the longest siege of the 20th century.
45 minutesVidikovac Špicasta stijena
The history of this place is sad - you will visit the Serbs' trenches - but the view is one of the most beautiful in Sarajevo. Here you can admire how the city has regained its joie de vivre after its cruel past.
15 minutesBašča kod Ene
Afterwards, your taxi will pick you up and take you back to your accommodation or, if you still have energy left, you can walk down to the starting point with your guide.
