Itum Bahal
Our guide will either meet you at your hotel lobby or you can come to the starting point provided by yourself. This tour is a journey to the ancient history of Kathamndu which once was a kingdom itself. Itum bahal is one of the many monuments you will visit during this short but mindful and deeper walking experience.
Seto Machhendranath Temple
It's a native deity of Kathamndu and Tibetan Buddhists, known as Avalokitesvara or god of compassion the shrine has 108 engraved icons of Avalokitesvara representing all his major forms. Local devotees visit the shrine inorder to receive blessings.
Asan
Asan is the oldest living market of Kathamndu where locals buy and sell goods of daily usage from vegetables to clothing and metal items to spiritual items. We have a saying that at Asan Bazaar, you find things from Salt to Gold !
Nardevi
Naradevi is one of the goddess temples worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists and she was known for sacrifice in the past. The area also has ayurvedic and traditional well-being shops and clinics.
Kathesimbu Stupa
Kathesimbu Stupa is considered as replica of more famous Swayambhu Stupa. It is believed to be built in 10-11th century. The compound has many miniature stupas, old statues and both Tibetan Buddhist and Theravada Buddhist monasteries within the compound. In fact it's a great learning place of Buddhist tradition that's followed by Tibetans and local Newar Buddhists as their holy centers stand side by side.
30 minutesThahiti Chowk
Thahiti is another Buddhist stupa built probably 5 hundred years ago on top of an old gahiti or stone tap. The holy site is the border of the tourist town Thamel (north) and the old town (south).
