Try Freediving in a Cenote nearby Cancun (Private Group)
Cancun, Mexico
Unlike its reputation, FREEDIVING is not an extreme sport for adrenaline junkies, which only the bravest, fittest or strongest people can perform, but rather an activity for everyone. It is both, a fascinating physical journey through the three-dimensional space of water, as well as a life-changing mental or even spiritual journey to more self-confidence, greater mindfulness, inner peace and much more.
This introduction to freediving provides you a first glimpse of your enormous, unimagined potential under water, potentially ignites the spark to continue your freediver career with a proper beginner’s course and, even if you won't follow it up, the experienced will make you a much better snorkeler / skin diver.
Description
Itinerary
Try Freediving, all alone or together with your partner, family or friends in a Cenote nearby Cancun!
This is an introduction to freediving; under the professional guidance of our instructor you will learn the basic skills and knowledge of this fascinating underwater activity.
After a short block of theory about rules, breathing, techniques and equalization, as well as a quick stretching session, you are ready to enter the magical water of a gorgeous cenote (selection based on availability and weather). There we will start the practice with the first of two main disciplines, called "Free Immersion"; your are descending and ascending by pulling yourself on a vertical rope using your arms. This is followed by the discipline of "Constant Weight Bi-Fins", where you are diving along the same rope but now using your legs to power the fins. Once you have mastered both to a certain degree we will be shooting some videos of you.
The cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula are considered the best and safest training grounds in the world for this activity as their conditions are perfect and consistent all year round.
We will finish off the whole experience with a joint, local lunch.
