Thanks Dr. Asad Mohsin - Associate Professor at the University of Waikato (New Zealand) to introduce a Halal Tour for Muslim Tourists in Portugal.Lisbon is a Muslim-friendly city with roots in Islamic history. Portugal, once known as Al-Garb Al-Andalus (the west of Spain), was under Islamic rule for over 500 years.
The Islamic history rooted over the years in Lisbon is worth taking note of as the Muslims Moors conquered the city in 711, and there are several historical and architectural monuments like Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Torre de Belém World Heritage Sites. Visit the Central Mosque inaugurated on March 29, 1985 it is a temple of modern architecture and the main and most prominent mosque in Lisbon. After, visit the Aicha Siddika Mosque in Odivelas established in 1983.

Odivelas
Visit the first mosque built in 1982 in Laranjeiro (South Tagus Islamic Community), followed a year later by the small but impressive Aicha Siddika mosque in Odivelas.

Although permission to build the center was requested in 1966, it was not granted until 1978 after the 1973 oil crisis through which the Arab oil-producing nations gained increasing economic and political status. The structure was finally inaugurated in 1985.

Constructed on the northern bank of the Tagus River, this tower was used to defend the city. Years later, it was transformed into a lighthouse and customs house. It is situated very close to the Jerónimos Monastery.
