Peles Castle
In the morning, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Bucharest. Your tour will begin with a road trip from Bucharest to Sinaia where you will visit one of the most prestigious castles in Romania, Peles Castle. Due to its beautiful architecture and idyllic setting, Peles is considered by several publications one of the most spectacular castles in the world. In the past, it was used by the Romanian Royal Family as a summer residence, until it was seized by the communist regime.
1 hourBran Castle (Dracula's Castle)
After taking a tour of Peles Castle you will head to Bran, a small village near the Brasov, in order to visit Bran Castle. Prompted by Bram Stoker’s best-seller novel Dracula, the fame of Bran Castle, better known as Dracula’s Castle, stole the world’s spotlight. This is the reason why the Halloween party at Bran it`s very popular nowadays. The solitary image of the castle and the Gothic architecture (specific to Transylvania’s Middle Ages) have established an undying connection to Vlad the Impaler. Your Dracula tour will introduce you to the story of how Vlad the Impaler came to be associated with the legend of Dracula. The castle was built in the 13th century by the Saxons of Brasov on top of an older wooden fortification erected by the Teutonic Knights.
1 hourRasnov Citadel: Garden and Panoramic View
After visiting the castle you will take the old trade route that passes the Carpathian Mountains and head to Rasnov, a medieval citadel perched on a hill ever since the 14th century. Your day will come to an end after visiting Rasnov and will head back to the medieval city of Brasov to spend the night. If the time allows, at night you can take a walking tour through Brasov's Council Square.

Day 2: Brasov – Fagaras Citadel – Rupea – Crit – Sighisoara Citadel

In the morning you will leave for Fagaras, an imposing citadel dating back to the feudal ages. The Fagaras Citadel has an impressive defensive system that allowed it to be one of the few structures that were never conquered. It is surrounded by a moat and by two rows of walls which makes it very difficult to lay siege to.
1 hourCetatea Rupea
In Rupea will find one of the oldest archeological sites in Romania, the first documentary recorded was in the 14th century. But the signs of human settlements are dating from the Paleolithic and early Neolithic ages. Rupea Citadel was fully refurbished in 2013. A legend says that Decebalus, the famous Dacian king, committed suicide here during the Second Dacian War in 106 AD.

Day 3: Sighisoara – Richis – Biertan – Alba Iulia – Hunedoara - Sibiu

From Richis you will head to Biertan, which boasts with the largest fortified church in Romania, surrounded by three rows of walls protected by 6 towers and 3 bastions. Biertan is one of Transylvania's villages with fortified churches and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Centre since 1993.
1 hourCetatea Alba Iulia
Your next stop is at Alba Iulia, a city where Romania’s history vibrated for more than 2000 years. This place was, over the years, home to a Roman Fort, a medieval defense fortress, and ultimately, a large stellar-shaped fortress with bastions in Romania, built in a Vauban style.

One of the most impressive Transylvanian castles is the famous Corvin Castle. The castle built in a Gothic style is underlined by tall towers decorated with dragons carved in stone, seemingly taken out of a fantasy novel. Also known as the Hunyad Castle, it amazes not only through its architecture but also through the story that ties it to John Hunyadi, one of the legendary heroes that helped stop the Ottoman invasion.

Day 4: Sibiu – Curtea de Arges – Bucharest

Your fourth and final day starts with a city tour of Sibiu, a city that simply cannot be excluded from a medieval tour of Romania. Sibiu’s characteristics resemble those of a German medieval town: a large square surrounded by the most representative buildings. You will take a walking tour through the city, and in order to reach the defensive walls you will pass over the most famous bridge in Romania, the Bridge of Lies.

After leaving Sibiu you will pass through the Carpathian Mountains. Driving along the bank of the Olt River while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Your final stop will be at Curtea de Arges, where will visit one of the most beautiful Orthodox Churches in Romania and the Necropolis of the great kings of Romania.
