Palm Springs Hike to an Oasis and Amazing Desert Views

I provide water, a snack bar and a clean/sanitized backpack for each hiker if needed. For centuries the Cahuilla people hiked to these hill tops that overlook Palm Springs to send smoke signals to nearby tribes that they traded with. Since these trails are unmarked they're mostly known & used by locals & don't get as used like other area trails during the busy winter/spring tourism season.

We'll be on land adjacent to the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument on a network of some of the best hiking trails in Palm Springs. You'll enjoy Palm Springs hiking at it's best with lots of scenic views of the Coachella Valley & a hike into a hidden Palm tree oasis. I know these trails well & the most scenic viewpoints along the way to enjoy some of the best views of Palm Springs & far beyond.

  • Bring a salty snack if it's a warm/hot day to maintain sodium levels lost through sweating.
  • Bring a hat, sunglasses & wear sunscreen.
  • Wear shoes with good traction, no sandals to many rocks..
  • Check & dress for the weather forecast so you'll be comfortable, layering is best.

Good to Know

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Not recommended for travelers with back problems
  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • Not recommended for people that are recovering from surgery, have vertigo, balance/mobility issues, bad knees. If you've got asthma bring your inhaler, if allergic to bees bring your EpiPen.
  • All participants must be at least moderately fit & healthy, the hike is approximately 5.5 miles long with an elevation gain/loss of about 1000 feet & sections of trail that are rocky, uneven & have loose dirt/rocks, typical of other local trails. The hike lasts approximately 3 hours 30 minutes with most people I've noticed, but I've done it in as little 2 hrs 45 min. with experienced/fit people and it's taken just over 4 hours with less experienced/fit people. Please wear shoes with good traction, trail runners are perfect (no sandals). Make sure to dress for the weather forecast for comfort, layers are best. Please take lots of pics but briefly, no long photo sessions & for safety please no staring at your phone while we're walking. There are no restrooms here, but I carry restroom supplies. No talking about politics/religion. If booking the hike for others please make them aware of the physical requirements above for their safety and comfort.
