Gunung Penanjakan
The trip to Mount Bromo normally takes for 2-2.5 hours from Malang city. The first area of TNBTS that we will visit is the sunrise view point located in Penanjakan or Kingkong hill. Normally the sunrise will be rise at 04.30 AM. Upon arrival in the sunrise view point, the driver will ask for permission to take a rest until 06.00 AM. This is important considering the road conditions that you will take in the morning are more bumping than the road that you have traveled during night (Malang-Sunrise view point). So you’ll enjoy the view of Penanjakan without a tour guide. The night temperature at Mount Bromo is normally 0°-12° Celcius and will warm up when the sun rises. If you need an extra jacket, you can rent in the sunrise view point with cost 10.000 rupiah (US$ 70cent). While waiting for the sun to rise, you can wait in the car (take a nap) or drink coffe/tea in the coffee shop. But please make sure to check and asking for the prices before ordering meal / drinks (to avoid scam). For moslem customer there is a prayer room and the morning prayer can be start at 04.15 AM.

Believed by the Tengger tribe as a place where two pairs of lovers, namely Joko Seger and Roro Anteng are referred to as ancestors or the origin of the Tengger tribe who inhabited the Mount Bromo area. This is the most romantic location in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS). Pura Luhur Poten is a Hindu temple located under the foot of Mount Bromo. This temple is the center of religious activities of the majority Tengger tribe who are Hindu. You can visit this place by walking as far as 200 meters from the car park area.
