A curated journey through the experience
Old Town
In the Old town, we are going to visit 4 family-run places. In the first one, there will be a guided evaluation of olive oil, where you are going to learn how to easily recognize the main characteristics of extra virgin olive oil (15 minutes). After that, we are going to two restaurants where we'll try 4 wines paired with four dishes (a total of 60 min). In the end, we are going to have dessert in the last place. In between, we are going to learn about the history of Dubrovnik and the historical-cultural context of food and wine on the tour.
Revelin Fortress
We will walk around the whole Fort because our first stop is just a couple of meters outside the city walls. Revelin Fort will be the perfect introduction to an explanation of Dubrovnik's famous defensive system and why there is no statue on the eastern city gate. What gifts were used to please powerful Ottomans and how the oldest ever mentioned local grape variety found its way to the Muslim rulers of Bosnia?
Large Onofrio's Fountain
While passing by Large Onofrio's fountain we are going to talk about the peak time of the famous Dubrovnik Republic and biggest engineering projects of that time.
Cafe Buza
Why there is a hole in the wall and what was the purpose of this place couple of centuries ago? While standing just outside the city wall and watching the Adriatic Sea, we will discuss the great history of this beautiful city
The Rupe Museum
While walking through off the beaten path parts of the Old City and enjoying the view of rooftops, we will pass by one of the best museums in Dubrovnik, the 16th-century granary of Dubrovnik.
