Join me on a journey to explore Amsterdam over the canals with a maximum of 8 guests at a time. All cruises are captained and guided by myself Boudewijn Metzelaar aka ¨Captain Jack¨ for those that are unable to pronounce my impossible Dutch name :-)We will sail on a fully electric luxury salonboat. There is comfortable seating for each guest indoor and outdoors, whatever the unreliabe Dutch weather may bring you will be comfortable onboard the ¨Drift Away¨ A full array of (alcoholic) drinks and delicious snacks are included.
Feel free to enjoy yourself with the beverages, there is a bathroom onboard!I am not only an Amsterdammer by birth, I am one by heart. Through my diverse upbringing en life choices I have developed a unique perspective on Amsterdam which I really enjoy sharing with others. The small scale of maximum 8 guests allows for an intimate and enjoyable level of conversation during the cruise.

Amsterdam Canal Ring
As a born and raised ¨Amsterdammer¨ I have a wealth of knowledge about Amsterdams history, culture and the Dutch way of life in general. I love sharing with you about my hometown in an easy going manner, with a good sense of humor and the typical Dutch straight forwardness!
1 hour 30 minutesThe Jordaan
We will pass through the pitoresque district the Jordaan. The name of the Jordaan finds its origin in the French word Jardin, meaning garden. Many of the streets in the district are named after flowers.
Het Scheepvaartmuseum| The National Maritime Museum
The former warehouse of the Admiralty of Amsterdam features the Maritime Museum. We will also pass by ¨De Amsterdam¨ an enormous replica East India Trading Company ship.
Montelbaanstoren
Former tower part of the defense wall surrounding Amsterdam, converted in the 1600 to a clock tower. Features also in a painting by Rembrant van Rijn
Red Light District
We will pass the most famous prostitution district in the world, you will learn the practical features of the usage of red light in the world of prostitution.
Magere Brug
The most famous bridge out of the thousands Amsterdam features, why is it famous and who build it?
The Smallest House in Amsterdam
Tax used to be based on the width of your residence facade. We will pass the smallest house in Amsterdam to show you the builders disdain for paying tax.
