Blue Mosque
We are going to visit Sultan Ahmet mosque a.k.a Blue mosque, one of the most spectacular construction of classical Ottoman era. With the tiles and stained glasses decorated interior, you will feel the color of blue at the very deep of your heart. Narrations of history and the legends will take you back to the heyday of Ottoman Empire.
20 minutesHagia Sophia Mosque
Sofia (Holly Wisdom) gives you uninterrupted history of the city as it has always been at the center of the Constantinople.
30 minutesBasilica Cistern
The Basilica Cistern was built in the 6th century during the reign of Justinian I. as the main water reservoir for Istanbul – back then called Constantinople. The underground hall is supported by rows of regal columns. The hall seems to spread endlessly into darkness, as the sparse illumination lets further away columns glow just like mere lanterns. In the morning hours, silence spreads over the waters, startled just by the distant echoing of water drops or quiet splashes from carps coming to the surface. As a James Bond hide out from the 'From Russia With Love' and a mystic place of Dan Browns 'Inferno, the basilica cistern has some mysteries for you too.
30 minutesHippodrome
The Roman Hippodrome in Istanbul, Turkey, served as an ancient racetrack where historical chariot races, major social events and athletic competitions were held. It was decorated with the Egyptian Obelisk and other famous columns along its spina, a raised central platform used to divide the race track. Hosted the biggest riot of Eastern Roman Empire, the hippodrome offers some links with Hagia Sophia and St Mark's Basilica of Venice.
15 minutesTopkapi Palace
Topkapı Palace (Topkapı Sarayı) is the subject of more colourful stories than most of the world's museums put together. Libidinous sultans, ambitious courtiers, beautiful concubines and scheming eunuchs lived and worked here between the 15th and 19th centuries when it was the court of the Ottoman empire. A visit to the palace's opulent pavilions, jewel-filled Treasury and sprawling Harem gives a fascinating glimpse into their lives.
3 hoursGrand Bazaar
The Grand Bazaar (Kapalicarsi) is a plus 550 years old covered market situated in Beyazit, in the Historical Peninsula of Istanbul. It is also one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. Grand Bazaar is a popular points of interest and a perfect place with the tourists to end their Istanbul visit by shopping for some souvenirs for their family and friends before leaving for the airport. The grand bazaar will be our last destination. Guests who wish to spend more time here alone can get brief information about the bazaar before exploring the hidden streets of it. (Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and Eid Holidays.--Replaced with Spice Market.)
