Bibi-Heybet (aunt of the stern) is a 'pir' located near the mountains of Baku amidst a vast cemetery. The tomb of Bibi-Heybet, one of the relatives of the Prophet Muhammad, is located in a vast mosque, very willingly visited by Muslims. Bibi-Heybet is famous for her miraculous power to heal the sick. Many of the Muslims bequeath to be buried near this mosque.

It is known that Islam was adopted in Azerbaijan in VII century.

It is a flaming mountainside that cannot be extinguished by rain or sand, and has been burning for several millennia. The frightening yet fascinating fiery landscape is actually very simple to explain: natural gas is released from the upper layers of soil, which turns into flames when it comes into contact with oxygen.
