I'm Anna Maria Priora, an Italian licensed tour guide with a PhD in WWII history in Italy at the Humboldt University of Berlin. I will be happy to share with you the most important events of the 4 Battles of Cassino, but also the personal Veterans' stories, remembering that memory is very important for our future! I will pick you up with my Italian Minivan at the train station of Cassino and I will start to show you shortly the new town, totally rebuilt after the war.
We will stop in the town, where the German Headquarter was, and then we will see Castle Hill (where the Kiwis and the Gurkas tried to attack the Abbey) and at the Belvedere, where I will show you the Liri valley where the battles took place. We are going to visit the Abbey of Monte Cassino on a WW2 point of view, and then we will pay a visit to the Commonwealt Cemetery.(search "Anna Maria Priora" on Google to have a more complete view of all my tours)
