The trek begins in Pokhara, gradually ascends the Annapurna foothills through the narrowing gorge of the Modi Khola (river), and finally emerges through the ‘gates’ of the sanctuary into 360 degrees of spectacular mountain scenery.The trail leads to Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchhre Base Camp passing colorful Gurung villages, terraced fields, dense forest of pine and rhododendron.Spectacular panoramas extend to Manaslu in the east and Dhaulagiri to the west including unrivalled views of Fishtail.
